The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has publicly told the Kogi State governor, Yaya Bello, to pay Civil Servants their salaries to celebrate Christmas.
It was reported the Kogi State government has been owing the civil servants for several months and this has not gone well with civil servants of the State.
During this Christmas season, the workers were expecting at least one month for the Yuletide period, but all to no avail.
He has been told to pay regardless of how many months backlogs that are yet to be cleared.
It was previously announced that the Federal government was planning to disburse bail out to states so as to clear the outstanding backlogs but no news of disbursement to that effect.
We hope the Kogi State government finds a lasting solution to the endless suffering of the civil servants in the State as they approach the new year.
