Ajegunle killers update: Police arrests 5 suspects linked with the killing of two people in Ajegunle.

Following the callous attitude of the Nigerian Police to all and sundry, and  being the orchestrator of evil deeds in the nation. It was reported that some despicable police officers killing a 20 year old lady and a young man in Ajegunle area of Lagos State. In the aftermath of this heartless act, the Police has arrested five officers who are believed to be linked with  the killing of these innocent citizens. Inspector Danja Ojo has been declared wanted by the Lagos State Police Command. He was involved in a shooting that led to the death of a young girl in Ajegunle.  Five  other officers whose names were made known to the public have reportedly being apprehended by the Lagos State Command. SARS at it again: Police kills 20 year old lady and her friend in Ajegunle, Lagos State.

Truth to be told, the Nigerian Police  seems to be erupting war instead of being an exemplary entity of peace. They have reportedly become a thorn to all and sundry flesh in Nigeria. A murder case of a young man, Kolade Johnson, which is still reportedly fresh and Young in the hands of the Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS, another ugly scenario has also surfaced in Ajegunle, in Lagos State. It was reported the another  Innocent youth, 20year old girl was shot dead by Police in Ajegunle while the boy that was with her was also shot & fighting for his life at the hospital. It was evidently reported the deceased did not commit any crime punishable under the law. This has come as a great threat to the peace of the nation at large. In due time, more reports will be brought to you following the unpleasant incident orchestrated by the heartless killers.

It is global: Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp shut down.

News reaching our desk says that the trio Facebook-owned services [Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp] have reportedly shut down. Many users started reporting issues around 11AM (WAT). This is not the first time this year that the 3 Facebook-owned services will be down simultaneously, as there was a similar occurrence in March. The reason for this second shut down has not been unveiled to the members of the public and social media users worldwide. The users of this trio Facebook-owned services have been implored to be patient as they restore the system to normal.

Football Violence: Ibadan Poly suspends Students Union, shuts campus

The Polytechnic Ibadan on Thursday said that it has suspended all Students’ Union Government activities within the campus. It also asked students to proceed on a forced break. The decision came a few hours after violence erupted shortly after a football match between the students in the Faculty of Engineering and their colleagues in the Faculty of Business and Communications Studies. The institution asked the students to proceed to a compulsory mid-semester break. The Registrar of the institution, Modupe Fawale, made this announcement in a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES. The action, according to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Soladoye Adewole, became necessary in order to forestall breakdown of peace in the institution. Mr Adewole in a telephone interview said the suspension is until further notice. An elegant undergraduate of university of Calabar passes away.

Miss Rebecca Chukwueke, a two level student of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Calabar has fallen. She was unconscious as at 9pm yesterday when she was rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) for check up/treatment.  The cause of the unconsciousness was not disclosed to the people who took her to the University Teaching Hospital. however, all efforts to save this soul proved abortive as she was confirmed dead later on at exactly 12am today. The entire management and students of the Federal institution have showed their grievances following the painful and shocking exit of the young lady. They also   commiserated  with the family of the deceased and prayed such unpleasant occurrence will not surface in the family. The beautiful angel is predicted to be in his early twenties. "Police team suspected to have been involved in the shooting of Kolade Johnson is now in our custody," CP Lagos command assures justice will prevail.

On 31/03/2019 at about 5.05pm, the Command received a distress call that Lagos- Abeokuta Express Way has been blocked by some angry youths who were protesting the shooting of one Kolade Johnson m of No.1 Beco street, Onipetesi, Mangoro Bus Stop by a team of Policemen from Anti Cultism unit.   A team of policemen from the Rapid Response Squads and Metro patrol were promptly drafted to the scene. The account of eye witnesses helped in identifying the team which fled the scene immediately after the incident. Members of the team suspected to be involved in the shooting have since been arrested and are currently in Police custody undergoing interrogation. They will be subjected to internal disciplinary procedures, and may be prosecuted in conventional Court if implicated by ongoing investigation. Killer Of Ex-Ondo Deputy Governor’s Daughter, Khadijah Oluboyo, to die By Hanging

An Ondo state High Court sitting in Akure has sentenced Seidu Adeyemi to death by hanging for killing Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of former deputy governor of Ondo State. Khadijat, a final year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA), Akugba-Akoko, was found dead inside the room of Adeyemi at his residence in Oke Aro area of Akure on July 2nd 2018. The deceased and Seidu dated for eight years. According to police investigation, Seidu allegedly killed Khadijah for ritual purposes and then buried her in his room. On July 12th 2018, while he was being paraded, Seidu denied killing Khadijah. Explaining how she was killed, Seidu said; “Khadijat was my girlfriend since 2010 and she visited me to help her in writing her final project in school. NDLEA siezes 851,000 kilograms of tramadol in Ondo state

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has recorded a major haul of 851.027 kilogrammes of psychotropic substances. They are chemical drugs that change brain function and result in alteration in perception, mood, consciousness, cognition or behaviour. Ondo state commander of the agency, Haruna Gagara, who gave the figure while speaking with newsmen in Akure, the state capital, said the dangerous drugs were uncovered during phase 1 of its “Operation Ijo Oloogbo” in the state. He said during an operation at Ipele forest in Owo Local Government area of the state, it also confiscated 30,618 tonnes of cannabis sativa, five hectares of Indian Hemp farm and also recovered three single barrel guns and one pump action gun during the raid. Ekiti State ASUU chapter Condemns the removal of EKSU Vice Chancellor.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, in Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has condemned the removal of the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, by Governor Kayode Fayemi. The vice chancellor of EKSU was arbitrarily removed. The removal is hereby condemned in strong terms and in its entirety. The university is an autonomous institution with extant rules and governing regulations. The appointment and removal of a VC has procedures under the laws of the university. In order to prevent unnecessary crisis and administrative  due process should be followed in governing of the university. ASUU-EKSU chairman, Prof. Olufayo Olu-Olu, in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday said Fayemi’s action did not follow due process. Olu-Olu said the governor lacked the powers to remove the VC... Adding that, “It is the university's Governing Council that has the power to remove the VC, after following due process.”

Strike continues: "there are grey areas to be resolved," ASUU President speaks.

The national president of Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, says there are grey areas to be resolved. Following a heated meeting between the Federal Government and the Union, it has been confirmed that meeting has hit a dead end, as their refusal to reach consensus. ”We have not suspended the strike, discussion will continue at a later date. We are going back to for further consultation with our members,” say the ASUU President. The strike will be suspended, when the Federal Government addresses the issue of revitalisation. Revitalization is central to our academic work. Unless that area is addressed, our members will still have issues. We are not demanding for N50 billion. We are saying that the minimum that the Federal Government can release to reactivate revitalization fund is ₦50 billion. VP Osinbajo arrives Ikeja City Mall in Lagos.

Vice President, Osinbajo, has  arrives at Ikeja City Mall, Lagos State.
