Following a heated meeting between the Federal Government and the Union, it has been confirmed that meeting has hit a dead end, as their refusal to reach consensus.
”We have not suspended the strike, discussion will continue at a later date. We are going back to for further consultation with our members,” say the ASUU President.
The strike will be suspended, when the Federal Government addresses the issue of revitalisation.
Revitalization is central to our academic work. Unless that area is addressed, our members will still have issues. We are not demanding for N50 billion.
We are saying that the minimum that the Federal Government can release to reactivate revitalization fund is ₦50 billion.
With the demand of the Union, the strike remains indefinitely going on until the Federal Government reaches agreement with the Union regarding the demand on revitalization of the Universities.
