Manchester United are having an impressive transfer window, despite what many thought would be the case. Granted, they have had their fair share of blows this window but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can be happy with the players he’s obtained so far.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka joined from Crystal Palace early on in the window whereas Harry Maguire was recently unveiled at Old Trafford as the world’s most expensive defender. Now that their defence has been bolstered, Manchester United will look to improve on an attacking front.
News has emerged from AS which will be welcomed by Manchester United. They report that the Red Devils are close to signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham. The move is thought to have been aided by Bruno Fernandes favouring a move to Tottenham.
Eriksen has been going through a difficult time in lily-white. While he has not been struggling for game time or trust from his manager, the Danish midfielder has been desiring a move away for some time now.
Perhaps he feels like he is treading on a thin wire heading into the future. He would be right to think this given Tottenham’s transfer activity this summer. They recently signed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and given their interest in Fernandes, Tottenham have made it clear they wish to add to their attacking options.
Eriksen is a creative, attack-minded midfielder. He is best utilised in the final third and the players around him function better when play flows through him. He has an incisive eye for the pass and his execution is often flawless to match.
Paul Pogba is walking the wire at Manchester United. Fans are sceptical as to whether or not he will stay. United recently received a big offer from Juventus so if they are to be tempted, then they would need to be quick about signing Eriksen as his replacement.
