Buhari congratulates Super Falcons on winning AFCON 2018.

President Buhari has congratulated the Super Falcons on yesterday's victory on the Bayana Bayana of South Africa in the African Women Cup of Nations Finals.

Prior to the yesterday's victory in the finals, the Super Falcons had already qualified for next year's FIFA world cup which will be hosted by France.



The African Women Cup of Nations victory will be the Super Falcon's third consecutive win and also the ninth time in their overall trophies.

The Presidency has commended the efforts of the coaching crew and the Nigerian Football body towards the victory .

Buhari said "I commend the coaching crew, the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, the supporters club, and all football loving Nigerians, for the hard work and the support given to our heroic Super Falcons. 

"I have never doubted the capacity of Nigerians to excel when given the right support."



Chinese league and Nigerian forward, Azeezat Osuala, lost a penalty during the game after she played the wide on the right side of the post.

The game entered extra time as Nigeria Super Falcons outplayed their tiring opponents but were quite unfortunate until they later won the finals 3-2 on  penalties.
