The Speaker, House of Representative, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara has spoken of the retired Deputy Commissioner of Police as a patriot who gave his all for the unity of the country.
He said "we lost a father, counselor, leader per excellence, and a patriot who gave his all for the unity of the country.
Chief Anenih was a distinguished and exemplary officer while he served in the Nigerian Police until his retirement as the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Dogara further said "On the Political front, Chief Tony Anenih played Politics without bitterness right from the days of the defunct NDN in the second republic, Social Democratic Party, and later officially Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
"He served as the Former Chairman Board of trustee leaving indelible marks in the management of the party.
"Our deepest condolences go to the Anenih Family, the people and government of Edo State, and the nation at large."
Chief Tony Anenih, was a consummate elder statesman who played several defining roles throughout Nigeria’s democracy.
