Former Vice President wins PDP Presidential primary election, prepares to battle with President Buhari in 2019 general election
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has won the Peoples Democratic Party Primary election conducted yesterday at the PDP Convention, Adokiye Amiesimaika Stadium , Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Other aspirants were Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, a Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwakwaso, a Former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa.
Among the other aspirants are President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, a Former President of the Senate, David Mark, Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jona Jang.
Also in the race are a Former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Markafi, a Former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido and Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed.
As a result of the announcement of Atiku as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party for the February 2019 general election.
He is joined by the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari, who has likewise been chosen without opposition.
He was the Vice President during the regime of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and prior to being Obasanjo's vice, he also worked in the Nigeria Custom Service for twenty years, rising to become Deputy Director before he retired in April 1989 to go into politics.

Atiku has been congratulated by Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Ben Murray Bruce.
