Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Peter Fayose has been released after meeting the bail conditions of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC. He is currently facing trial for alleged money laundering and abuse of office. He has been released after two weeks in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission. Fayose was apprehended by the commission shortly after he handed over to the newly inaugurated Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressive Congress, APC. Prior to the arrest, Fayose has intended going to meet with the Commission at their office on October 16th, 2018 by 1pm in Abuja. Fayose is expected to return to court on November 16, 2018.

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, has expressed optimism that the synergy between the Nigerian Judicial Institute, JDI, and Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC will continue to record phenomenal achievement in the ongoing fight against corruption. Walter said "it is my utmost belief that the synergy between the National Judicial Institute, NJI and Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, will continue to record phenomenal achievements, as well as being part of an extensive effort in the fight against corruption." Walter made this know at the opening of 3-day workshop for judges organized by the commission and Nigerian Judicial Institute.

The Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment Programme of the Nigerian Government, Npower, has released the date for the registration of the new applicants. The Empowerment Scheme has scheduled the date for the opening of the Npower Build  Portal for registration to commence from between November 5th-16th, 2018. Interested applicants are expected to register when the Npower Build Portal opens, as this will serve as a second chance to those that were not shortlisted during the 2017 Npower selection. Npower Build 2018 comprises of  seven components which are; automobile, plumbing and pipefitting, masonry and tilling, hospitality, electrical installation, carpentry and joinery, and agricultural technology. Applicants are implored to stay tuned as more news unfolds regarding Npower.

The Kaduna State Government has relaxed the curfew in Kaduna metropolis and environs. Following the hiccups that have erupted in Kaduna recently which have also resulted into the killing of the people of the state. Today, the Kaduna State Government has hereby declared the relaxation of the curfew so as to allow the people of the state to have some freedom. It has been made known that curfew shall take effect from tomorrow, October 29, 2018 as residents are allowed to move around till around 5pm as night time curfew still remains. Banks and markets are also expected to resume work, selling and buying respectively. This has been perceived as a relief to the people of the state as the curfew has put a halt many activities in Kaduna.

The Nigerian and Cameroonian armies have agreed to collaborate to end the insurgency in Borno state. The two troops have synergized with each other towards conducting joint military operation to halt the insurgency within the fringes of their common borders in Borno state, North East of Nigeria. The Acting G.O.C 7 Division, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu, made this known on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, when he paid an operational visit to a border location in Wulgo, Borno state.  This location is where Cameroon Defense Force (CDF) battalion is being deployed.

A man whose name is Mustafa Ramalan gave birth to his daughter 10 years old has appreciated God the sustainable of his daughter's life. His daughter whose name is Fatima was reportedly diagnosed after twenty nine weeks after her birth with Cerebral Palsy, a disease which could unable her to  neither speak nor walk. The doctor said Fatima needed therapy all her life. President of China, Xi Jinping has officially opened the world's longest sea crossing bridge in China. The construction of this record breaking sea crossing bridge has commenced nine years ago. The bridge spans 55km and it connects Hong Kong to Macau and the mainland Chinese city of Zhuhai. The longest sea crossing bridge has reportedly cost China an exorbitant amount of $20billion. Kaduna Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-rufai has visited His Royal Highness, Dr. Danjuma Barde, the Sa-gbagyi, to thank  and commended him for leading without discrimination, and for being a true leader in the time of crisis. President Muhammadu Buhari is set to commission the new International terminal of the Port Harcourt International Airport. The commission date has been scheduled for Thursday,  October 25, 2018. The new International terminal has been reportedly built by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has craved the presence of the Grand Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Buhari to commission the new project. A critic has heavily criticized the newly built International terminal by saying "Why should Government use our money to renovate an airport that has been concessioned out to a private individuals to make profit?." Following the recent attack on the troops of 118 Batallion Arega in Borno State. There has been updates regarding the attack as some weapons were recovered from the terrorists. The weapons are; one gun truck, three Anti-aircraft guns, two AK 47 rifles, one RPG bomb and some  mortar bombs. During the attack, three gun trucks were set afire to ashes with their occupants. Unfortunately, six Soldiers were wounded in action.  The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has commended the gallant troops for successfully repelling the attack. Buratai also directed that the wounded Soldiers be immediately evacuated for special medical attention. The general public have congratulated the troops and also prayed for them for the success that will be recorded in their subsequent encounters.

Ligue 1 giant, AS Monaco has appointed Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, as the new manager. The news surfaced following the dismissal of the Former manager, Leonardo Jardim few days ago. Finance Minister, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, is presently attending a United Nations meeting on the Sahel, with the theme: "Enhancing prosperity of women and youth in the Sahel through climate resilience agriculture and rural livelihood,"  At the end of the meeting, participants are expected to recommit to the successful implementation of the United Nations support plan for the Sahel and Long term stability of the region. Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, on Friday has assured the  release of the abducted Dapchi girls and only Christian girl Leah Sharibu to their respective families. Lai Muhammed led a three member Federal Government delegation Maiduguri, in Borno State and Dapchi girls in Yobe State, where he assured the family of the kidnapped Dapchi girl, Leah Sharibu, that the Federal Government will secure their release. The general public have said the Federal Government is taking Leah Sharibu's release for granted because of religious difference as sharibu is known to be a Christian.

Boko Haram terrorists have attacked the troops of 118 Batallion at Arege. The attack happened at about 5pm yesterday 12 October, 2018. Gallant troops of 118 Batallion successfully repelled a Boko Haram attack on troops stationed at Arege in Mobarr Local Government Area, Borno State. Items recovered from one Boko Haram terrorist gun truck while two others were destroyed. Own troops are presently in pursuit of Boko Haram terrorists who withdrew in disarray due to superior firepower.

Outgoing Governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose, has commissioned the Ekiti State Ministry of Finance complex within the government house premises in Ado Ekiti. Fayose has named the architectural masterpiece after a renowned broadcaster and Former Minister of Planning, Aare Ayo Ogunlade. The commissioning if the complex would be part of the accomplishments of the outgoing Governor when he hands over to the incoming government. Fayose is set to hand over to the new government under the leadership of John Kayode Fayemi on October 15, 2018 following the victory of the All Progressive Congress in the previous gubernatorial election in Ekiti State. He is also expected to report at the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC at Abuja, on 16 October, 2018 by 1pm.
