Senate President, Bukola Saraki and former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo have paid their last respect to the former UN Secretary general and legend, Kofi Anna.

Kofi Atta Annan was born  in Kumasi, in  then British Gold Coast in April 8, 1938 and he went on to study Economics at the Macalester College, ,international relations from the graduate institute, Geneva and Management at MIT.

He was a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006.

He was the Chairman and CEO of Kofi Annan foundation, and as well as the Chairman of The Elders, an international organization founded by late Nelson Mandela.

Kofi Annan as the  Secretary-general, he reformed the UN bureaucracy; worked to combat HIV, especially in Africa.

He was criticized for not expanding the Security Council and faced calls for resignation after an investigation into the oil-for-food Programme, but was largely exonerated for personal corruption.

Annan quited after becoming frustrated with the UN's lack of progress with regards to conflict resolution.

Finally, Kofi Atta Annan gave up the ghost as an African legend on 18 August, 2018.

Senate President, Dr. Saraki and Chief Olusegun Obasanjo have joined the good people of Ghana and other Worls leaders to pay their last respect to the "stubborn optimist" as claimed by Saraki.
