Having an excellent result has been what every student craves for, and bringing the excellent result home is an ecstatic moment and great pride to one's parents.
Having an excellent result has also been the priority of every newly admitted student in the higher institutions.
But during the course of the study, the initial high expectations start degrading due to the harsh academic environment and some unforeseen factors that are being faced by the students.
To those who are bothered about making excellent grades out of school when they finally graduate, these are some tips to make you high flying like an eagle.
1.) Know your best time of study: Knowing your best of study goes a long way to make you an excellent student. It is funny when you read because your mates/friends are reading, look up! This is disastrous to your academic life.
It's pertinent you know whether it is early in the morning, afternoon, evening or midnight that you read and assimilate. You are advised to test-read to know your best time you can assimilate fast.
2.) Know the kind of company you keep: It is advisable you move with the friends who can improve you academically and morally. "Bad company corrupts good manners," you should have this at the back of your mind. Your company either make or mar you. Beware!!!!!
3.) Try to read what you have been taught before the day runs out: This is where laziness on the part of the students sets in. They find it difficult to read what they have been taught that same day. Your brain stores it quickly and it becomes ever fresh in your memory.
It is just like a fresh food and stale food, when you eat a fresh food early, it will still retain it freshness but when the stale food is eaten, the freshness is lost. So read when you still have your note fresh with you.
4.) Set yourself a higher objective: This has been a general guidance for an excellent result when you set your objectives as touching each course you will be offering for that semester. As a prospective excellent student, you should set before you a high objective so that your final result won't be far below your expectations.
Assuming you set yourself an objective of having A's in all your nine courses and you work towards it, you might end up achieving a goal close to your aforementioned objectives .
5.) Dont be too pompous to learn from the brilliant ones: "A whole me to him" stigma won't make you an excellent student. You are required to lower yourself and learn from those brilliant mates/friends of yours. They can teach you better than your lecturers.
6.) Write down whatever you have read repeatedly: This has really helped many students at their various schools. Repeated reading and writing down what you have read is like you are cheating in the examination hall. This tip gets you acquainted with every word in your note.
7.) Note the keywords that are in your note: This is common to students whose course content is cumbersome. It is germane to note some keywords that quicken your retentive memory.
8). Avoid detesting your lecturer: When you hate your lecturer, you cannot like his course and you will end up carrying the course over. Do not hate your lecturer, love his/her course, then you will make it excellently.
9.) Listen attentively and be punctual: Punctuality is a key to an excellent result, you are expected to come to the lecture room before the lecturer and listen, so as to be able to get what the lecturer is saying. It is important you hear from the horse's mouth.
10.) Read beyond your note (if necessary): Some lecturers enter your class and give a very short note, wake up!!!! They want you to make more research on the little they have been taught.
11.) See your course as a pleasure and not burden: Don't create unnecessary phobia for yourself by seeing a course as a pleasure. See your difficult courses as mountains that have been climbed and not the mountains to be climbed
12.) Remember the son of whom you are: You need to remember where you came from, the son of whom you are. Dont compare your life with others because you don't know their background.
13.) Erase assistance notion: This is very important for students as this gives them a great and firm stand on their feet without depending on anybody's answer in the examination hall
14.) Draw a time table: The purpose of drawing a time table for yourself is to bring about even study of all your courses, so that the love for one course won't overwhelm the hatred for another course.
15.) Put God first: This is the above all tip , as your work without God is like a heap without seed inside. Reverence God in all your academic undertakings and you will come flying high like an eagle.
