The current Political situation has caused palpable tension and unnecessary stress among law abiding Lagosians, Ambode laments towards the APC Primary elections in Lagos state.

The incumbent Governor of Lagos state, Governor Akinwumi Ambode has lamented about the current Political situation that has caused palpable tension and unnecessary fear among law abiding Lagosians. Ambode stressed  further by saying "Our Government is in collaboration with the relevant security agencies will not allow disruptive elements to cause panic or wreak havoc that will disrupt the tranquil atmosphere in the state, in the guise of holding Primary elections. "I have expressed my intention to seek re-election on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to consolidate the achieveachievements we have recorded for our dear state and I ask for the support of all our Party members."

Air force jet crashes ahead of Independence day.

The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) jet has reportedly crashed inside a bush at Katampe Hill in Abuja. The jet was one of those being used for the aerial display rehearsal ahead of Nigeria's 58th Independence Day celebration on 1 October, 2018. According to Katampe residents, the pilot and one occupant escaped with the aid of parachutes. More to follow...

Tragedy: Two Pilots die and two passengers critically injured as jet crashes in South Carolina Airport

Two pilots have died and two passengers are critically injured after a private Jet landed, speeds off the runway and crashes into the fence. The crash occurred at the South Carolina Airport. In the aftermath of the incident, the private Jet broke into two. The dead pilots were immediately taken to the morgue and the two passengers who were critically injured have been taken to the nearest hospital for immediate treatment. More to follow....

Npower latest: Npower warns the 2017 beneficiaries in employment elsewhere

The Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment Program of the Nigerian Government (Npower) has warned the 2017 beneficiaries who are in employment elsewhere to either resign from Npower or terminate their employment they have elsewhere. This has come to the notice of the Empowerment Scheme that the 2017 beneficiaries are employed elsewhere aside the Npower job. The Empowerment Scheme said they have begun sweeping and will find out the fraudulent ones. Some beneficiaries have been caught in the web as Alhassan Umoh Alhassan, Zubeiru Ali Bukar and Zakari Ali who are 2017 beneficiaries were already employed by the Kogi state Government. The aforementioned fraudulent beneficiaries will be sanctioned and be brought to book. Npower further stressed that anyone caught will be exited from the Programme and reported to the Police.

The Police and other security agents have prevented voters from exercising their franchise in Osun state. As today marks the scheduled date for the re-run of the inconclusive election declared by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  on 22 September, 2018. From the results collated by the Commission, it was crystal clear as announced by INEC that the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke was the winner. In the aftermath, the election was declared inconclusive by the Commission. Party agents too have also been prevented from monitoring the various polling booths. It was said that the All Progressive Congress' thugs threatened the Peoples Democratic Party voters not to go near any polling booths. People were also seen being maltreated by some security agents. The All Progressive Congress was also accused of distributing N100,000 each to buy voters votes. Though for now, we see that as  speculation as there has not been

Npower latest August stipends news: Npower reveals date for another batch of payment of fifty thousand 2017 beneficiaries

The Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment of the Nigerian Government (Npower) has processed another fifty thousand 2017 beneficiaries for payment and issued the date that the beneficiaries should their alerts. The Empowerment Scheme has announced that another batch of  fifty thousand beneficiaries should start receiving their alerts  next week unfailingly. And to those who are yet to be enrolled, Npower has reiterated that beneficiaries should put their mind at rest as their stipends will be paid to them without hiccups. We hope this will come as a relief to some panicking beneficiaries who have perceived the scheme as scam.

Police arraign suspected notorious kidnaper and fraudster who threatened Atiku Abubakar

Police have arraigned a suspected notorious kidnaper and fraudster, Augustus Akpan,who threatened the Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, to withdraw from the Presidential race. The notorious kidnaper has threatened Kidnapp, rape and kill the Former Vice President's wife and daughter if Atiku fails to withdraw from the Presidential race. Augustus Akpan is believed to be a forty three years old man and also from Edemaya village, Ikot Abasi Local Government area in  Akwa Ibom state. Some exhibits were found with him which are; one Samsung galaxy S6 Edge, a mobile phone, the sim card used by the suspect to send the threat messages to Former Vice President, his wife and children.

Npower stipends alert: Npower disburses first batch of August stipends to 100,000 2017 beneficiaries

The Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of Social Investment Program (Npower) of the Nigerian Government which is saddled with responsibility of employing young graduates has disbursed August stipends to one hundred thousand 2017 beneficiaries. This good news came to the notice of gistyoublog  through the Empowerment Scheme's official twitter account. This news will in one way or the other boost the newly enrolled beneficiaries morale in their quest to start working at their various Places of Primary Assignment. Beneficiaries are expected to keep their phones very close to themselves for the August miracle alert from the Scheme. To those States who are yet to be enrolled, the Empowerment Scheme has  assured them that work is in progress towards their enrollment. Nigerian student breaks 30 year record by solving a mathematical equation in Japan

Nigerian student, Ufot Ekong, at a Japanese University solved a mathematical equation that could not be solved since thirty years ago. He broke this record during his first semester at the University as an undergraduate. The genius Ekong went to graduate with a First Class Honour, therefore breaking a huge fifty year record since 1965. Nigerians were very impressed with the way Ekong made the black Continent proud and also the giant of Africa, Nigeria. Nigerians jokingly said that they will be happy if Mr. Ekong can return to Nigeria to solve the economic bane of this nation. Mr. Ekong was declared "exceptional" on his massive achievements in the Japanese University. 

PDP heads to court and demands the apprehension of the returning officer over inconclusive Osun Gubernatorial election

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has headed to court over recently concluded Gubernatorial election in Osun state. PDP is heading to quash the illegal declaration of the September 22, 2018 Osun Governorship election as inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The Peoples Democratic Party said"We insist that the polls have already been concluded and result announced in all polling and collation centres, thus bringing the exercise to its lawful conclusion and removing INEC powers to declare  the election inconclusive. "Our electoral law is clear that once an election result is declared, INEC is bound to return a winner. INEC, in trying to play the card of the defeated APC, contravened the law by refusing to announce a return, even when the declared results have thrown up a winner. "Section 69 of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended states that inter-alia"in an election to the office of the President or Governor

President Buhari graciously approves N22.68billion and N20billion as retirement benefits of ex-workers of the Nigerian Airways and ASUU's request for public university revitalization: Finance Minister

President Muhammadu Buhari has graciously approved the immediate release of N22.68billion and N20billion as retirement benefits of ex-workers of the Nigeria Airways limited and ASUU's request for revitalization fund of public universities. Regarding the settlement of the outstanding retirement benefits due to the ex-workers of the Nigeria Airways , the initial submission for their retirement benefits was N78 billion. The amount was verified by relevant stakeholders in line with the condition of service of Nigeria Airways limited in liquidation and other extant rules and regulations. At the end of verification, N45 billion was agreed as total retirement benefits of affected staff. Regarding the funding measures for the revitalization of public universities , you may recalled that ASUU signed a Memorandum of understanding with the Federal Government sometimes in 2013 on the terms and conditions on which the Government would improve funding for staff welfar

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is presently undergoing the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential screening ahead of the 2019 general election. Saraki was sighted standing before the screening committee led by Former Vice President, Nnamadi Sambo at legacy house in Abuja. Saraki was joined by the other Peoples Democratic party aspirants; Atiku Abubakar and Kwakwaso.

Osun decides: Full collation of election results from Osun Gubernatorial election

As the people of Osun state are earnestly awaiting the final announcement of the winner of the just concluded gubernatorial election from INEC which took place yesterday, 22 September, 2018. Thirty Local Government Areas of Osun state were involved in the election and the full election results are now available to see so as to know which parties that are on the verge of being declared the winner of the election. Following the recent announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, it is now crystal clear to the blind and audible to the deaf that the race is a two horse race, that is, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress, APC, are both digging it out together. Police arrest Compromised INEC official for reducing the official results of Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun state

Compromised independent National Electoral Commission official, Alao Mutiu Kolawole, has reduced the results at Ayedaade Local Government in Osun state. It was reported that Mr. Mutiu did this to cover up INEC manipulation. The official has been apprehended for the criminal act. The Commission has hereby been accused of alleged manipulation of results as the result was 1000 votes surplus to what INEC announced at the collation centre. Mr. Mutiu confessed that he was ordered to do the dirty job by his boss, Mrs. Aderinoye.The peoples Democratic Party has called on INEC to announce the original result for Ayedaade Local Government Area without any further delay. INEC must extricate itself from the apron-string of the All Progressive Congress, as the Commission was urged to thread softly as the general public are keeping tabs on them.

Police arrest suspcted PDP Chieftain at Ward 8 Unit 9 in Osun state (see photos)

Police have arrested a suspected Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chieftain, Mr Adeagbo Wasiu, at Ward 8 Unit 9 Fiwasaye area of Osun state. Mr Adeagbo was apprehended on the basis of votes buying as a sum of one hundreds and sixteen thousand  (116,000) was recovered from him.  The general public are implored to be patient as investigation is ongoing as regards the issue.

Two suspected vote buyers have been apprehended in Osun state.

Two suspected vote buyers have apprehended by a team of police personnel on election duty. The two adults were caught at Iwo Local Government area of Osun state. No pure evidences to show the political party of the two suspected vote buyers. The amount of money recovered from the two men is a huge sum of six hundred and four thousand (#604,000). Investigations are still intensified, as the two men are in the custody of the security personnel. More to follow.....

The Long waited Osun State gubernatorial election has begun in the thirty one Local Government Areas. In the ongoing gubernatorial election, many candidates have evolved from different political parties. Here are the facts about Osun state gubernatorial election 2018 1.) There are Forty-eight political parties represented by forty-eight gubernatorial candidates. 2.) Records showed that four of the forty-eight gubernatorial candidates are females and the remaining forty-four are males. 3.) The total permanent voters' cards registered at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC office are one million, six hundred and eighty one thousand, nine hundred and thirty  (1,681,930). 4.) Out of the aforementioned total registered permanent votes' cards, only one million, two hundred and thirty seven thousand, six hundred and twenty PVC were collected, making it 72.5% of the total percentage who collected their PVCs from the INEC office.

United State Diplomatic mission in Nigeria to monitor conduct of the Osun State Gubernatorial election

As the people of Osun state are prepared to elect a new Governor today, Saturday, 22 September, 2018, the United States Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria to monitor the conduct of the Gubernatorial election. The United States Mission observer team is being led by Deputy Chief of Mission, David Young, and the consul General F.John Bray. The U.S and other International observers have called for a free, fair, credible, and peaceful election. It has been predicted that the development as a commendable effort as it will go a long way to checkmating any potential bad behavior during the election.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. TY Buratai, has briefed President Buhari on 21 September, 2018 on the counter terrorism and counter insurgency effort in the North Eastern part of Nigeria. The President was impressed with the decisive response of the Chief of Army Staff to the initial setbacks in the North East. Buhari also commended the troops efforts in dealing with the bandits in the North West especially in Zamfara state. Buratai seized the opportunity to pledge an unalloyed loyalty to the officers and men of the Nigerian Army to the Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He (Buratai) also assured President Buhari of the Nigerian Army's resolve to continuously protect the territorial integrity of the country as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.

Restriction of vehicular movement in Osun State ahead of Saturday Gubernatorial election.

Movement of vehicles has been restricted from 12am today, Friday, 21 September, 2018 till the end of the election in Osun state. Following the tomorrow's Gubernatorial election in Osun state, travellers, commuters and other road users have been advised not to use Osun routes. The travellers and commuters have been told to use some alternative routes; Lagos-Ore-Benin Highway and Lagos-Ibadan-Ilorin Highway. These restrictions of vehicular movements will help to foster unnecessary snatching of ballot boxes and also preventing some brouhaha before, during and after the declaration of the election results. The people of Osun state have implored to vote the right  candidate that will take Osun state to the next level in all sectors.

Rev. father dies four day after his escape from kidnappers

The Chaplain of the Seat of Wisdom Catholic Chaplaincy of the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun,  Delta state, Rev. Fr. Dr Louis Odudu who recently escaped from kidnappers' den, died on Wednesday, four days after he escaped from his abductors' den. This has come as a sad news to the members of the Seat of  Wisdom Catholic Chaplaincy of the Petroleum Institute, Effurun in Delta state. It was predicted that  Rev. Fr. Dr. Odudu might have given some toxic substances which was considered hazardous to his health which could have led him to his early grave few day after his escape. But there are no clear evidences as regards the cause of his death.

Kenyan Police arrest Two Nigerians and one Tanzanian for electronic fraud (see photos)

Two Nigerians and one Tanzanian have been arrested by Kenyan Police today for allegedly engaging in electronic fraud. It was said that ATM cards, laptops and cheque books, were among the items they found after arresting the three. The names of the apprehended three, Uduebor Uche, Omari and Adebowaj. The three criminals are already in the police custody as they await further judgement on their despicable act. The criminals seem to be remorseful in their looks as they were caught by the police.

Vice President visits the inspected area affected by flood in Niger state (see photos)

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has visited Zungeru, the inspected area affected by flood  in Niger state. The community was recently adversely affected by the flood which has made  people to move away from their respective abodes as a result of a heavy rainfall. The Vice President also interacted with the displaced victims at Zungeru Primary school, Niger. The people of the Zingeru  community however showed their appreciation as regards the Vice President's visit. The general public have tagged the Vice President's visit to the state as "good work" on the part of the present Government.

President Buhari commiserates with the family of a late humanitarian worker

President Buhari has paid his deepest condolences to the children and  family of the midwife and humanitarian worker, Saifura Hussaini Ahmed Khorsa who was killed by the Boko Haram terrorists. She (Saifura) was also a member of International Committee of the Red Cross and UNICEF. Buhari said"We will continue to do everything possible  to ensure  the safe return of all  of our people held by Book Haram. This is vow we intend to fully keep.  "I appeal to  our international partners and friends to continue to support us, even as we redouble our effort. "In the last three years , the efforts of our gallant military and intelligence agencies have resulted in the freeing of thousands of hostages, including some of the Chibok girls and most of the Dapchi girls.
