Former Real Madrid and present Chelsea Forward Alvaro Morata has changed his shirt nember form No 9 to No 29.
The reason for a change of shirt number was due to the fact that his twin sons were born on 29 July and the Forward is paying tribute to his twins Alessandro and Leonardo.
Morata could not hide his feelings as regards giving birth to twin sons. He said"It was a day I will never forget, to welcome my twin sons into the world." He told Chelsea's website.
"My family is so important to me and I want to honour them and my wife, Alice , when I am on the pitch which is why I have decided to take a different number for the new season and remember this special day by adding the number two to my shirt."
The young Forward moved to the West Londoners in a region of €90m last summer as he happened to be Chelsea's British record for a striker.
The striker faced serious problems in front of goal as he found it so hard to find the back of the net on important occasions in the Premier league during his maiden season at the Stamford Bridge Stadium.
The 25 years old score 11 goals in 31 Premier league matches last season and amid his wastefulness, he has been subject to transfer speculation this summer.
But the newly appointed Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has showed his faith in the 25 year old forward. Sarri said"I am very confident in him (Alvaro) for the future."
Chelsea is interested in exchanging the old number 9 with the new shirt number 29 with supporters. The striker apologized to the fans for a change of shirt number.
Chelsea is prepared as FA cup winners for a cracker against Defending Champions Manchester City this Sunday.
