Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo orders the overhauling of the management and activities of SARS

Following the persistent complaints and reports on the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery squad (SARS) that border on allegations of human right violations.

The Acting President said" I have directed the Inspector General of Police to, with immediate effect, overhaul the management and activities of SARS.

"The inspector General of Police will ensure that any unit that emerges from the process will be intelligence-driven and restricted to prevention and detention of armed robbery and kidnapping, and apprehension of offenders linked to the stated offences and nothing more.

"I have equally directed the IGP to ensure that all operatives in the emerging unit conduct their operations in strict adherence to the rule of law and with due regard to the International Human Right Law and constitutionally guaranteed rights of suspects.

"The Operatives should also bear proper identification anytime they are on duty.

"Similarly, I have directed the NHRC to set up a special panel that will conduct an investigation of the alleged unlawful activities of SARS in order to afford members of the general public the opportunity to present their grievances with a view to ensuring redress."

Together, Nigeria will prevail!!!!

SARS at it again: Police kills 20 year old lady and her friend in Ajegunle, Lagos State.

Truth to be told, the Nigerian Police seems to be erupting war instead of being an exemplary entity of peace. They have reportedly become a thorn to all and sundry flesh in Nigeria. A murder case of a young man, Kolade Johnson, which is still reportedly fresh and Young in the hands of the Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS, another ugly scenario has also surfaced in Ajegunle, in Lagos State. It was reported the another Innocent youth, 20year old girl was shot dead by Police in Ajegunle while the boy that was with her was also shot & fighting for his life at the hospital. It was evidently reported the deceased did not commit any crime punishable under the law. This has come as a great threat to the peace of the nation at large. In due time, more reports will be brought to you following the unpleasant incident orchestrated by the heartless killers.
