President Buhari set to depart for Beijing, in China for FOCAC Summit.

President Muhammadu is set to depart for China today so as to participate in the 7th summit of Forum on China-Africa cooperation (FOCAC). The summit is scheduled to hold September 3-4, 2018 in Beijing. The President's first engagement in Beijing will be an interactive session withe Nigerian community in China at the Nigerian embassy. Before the formal opening of FOCAC Summit, President Buhari in his caps as the current chair of ECOWAS, is expected to deliver  remarks at the high level dialogue between Chinese and African leaders, business representatives and African entrepreneurs. Lagos NYSC Camp atmosphere sent into frenzy as Corper Davido arrives for swearing-in ceremony(see photos)

It will forever be remembered in the history of Lagos NYSC Camp in Ikeja to have gotten a very popular, young, and stingingly rich celebrity Corp member like Adeleke David popularly known as Davido. It happened today when Corps members mobbed the lastest, newest, and freshest Celebrity Corp member, Adeleke David, as he arrived to participate in the swearing-in ceremony. After the entry of the popular singer into the NYSC Camp, the atmosphere of the camp went ecstatic as he (Davido) was mobbed by his fellow Lagos Corps members in the Camp. The Corps members were force to stop the Pandemonium in order to see and hear from him.

Federal Government begins Lagos-Ibadan railway construction (see photos)

The Federal Government has began the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan railway as part of the ongoing projects in the nation. The Buhari led administration has began the railway construction in order to link major cities with modern railway. The construction has enveloped  eight thousand workers for  the ongoing project. The railway comprises ten stations, twenty four million square meters of earthwork, three hundred and fourteen kilometers main rail (double track), sixty kilometers station rail, and 1.2 million square meters of ballast. On the contrary, many Nigerians criticized the ongoing railway project by saying Nigeria deserves more than the railway construction.

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, visited the Ventures Platform hub alongside the British Secretary for Africa and international development, Rt. Hon. Harriett Baldwin. Prof. Osinbajo was impressed with the Entrepreneurial spirit of the start-up he met. He said"As always, I was impressed with the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of the start-up I  met.  I am convinced that together we can make a difference."

President Buhari receives UK Prime Minister, Theresa May at the state house, Abuja (see photos)

At around 4pm Nigerian time, United Kingdom Prime Minister, Theresa May landed in Nigeria and was  later warmly welcomed by President Buhari and some Nigerian Troops. She (Theresa May) is set to hold some discussions with President Buhari and also to sign vital defence and Economic agreement involving Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Nigerians are hoping that the meeting would be a fruitful one so as to foster the economic and the security development of the nation. Some Nigerians also went on to suggest that the hectic process of getting the United Kingdom visa should be one of the important discussions between Theresa May and President Buhari, so as to make it easy for Nigerians to enter the United Kingdom.

President Buhari to receive UK Prime Minister

President Buhari is set to welcome United Kingdom Prime Minister, Theresa May, at the state house in Abuja. The two leaders are set to hold some discussions, as well as sign vital defence and economic agreements involving Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Nigerians have urged the President to be focused on the real business and get the best deal because the United Kingdom economy is vulnerable due to the fear of exit from Europe. He (Buhari) was also wished good luck as he signs the deal.

President Buhari receives Ooni of Ife and other Obas

President Muhammadu Buhari received Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, His Highness Sherif Ahmad Bin Zuhin Al-Natour, investor in Green projects, and Chair of GDTC investment yesterday at the state house in Abuja. The visitation of the top Dignitaries has been narrowed down to the introduction of foreign investors to Nigeria. The general public believe that the meeting held would help the nation to combat high level of unemployment in the nation.

Nigerian singer, Davido, begins his NYSC (see photos)

Award winning Nigerian singer and the boss of Davido Music World, Adeleke David, popularly known as Davido has began his quest to serve his  fatherland. Davido graduated from Babcock university in Ileshan-remo in ogun state where he had a degree in Music. The singer showed his excitement by showing the public some snapshots of him wearing his National Youth Service Corps uniform. He will be among the celebrity corps members at his NYSC camp. Davido is rumoured to have been posted to Lagos but there is no certainty as regards where he was posted. Truth to be told, the Nigerian singer, Davido, looks good on his NYSC uniform and we hope enjoys his service year as he serves his fatherland.

Abdulmumin Jibrin celebrates daughter as she clocks 10

Member House of Representative, Abdulmumin jibrin, celebrated his daughter, Fatima, as she is ten years old today. The beautiful Fatima was showered some accolades by her loving Father, Jibrin. Jibrin said"Happy 10th birthday to my daughter, Fatima. My Fatee tee.....my love, oh God bless my daughter, our daughters, mothers, wives, sisters, aunties and women in general. We can never pay them in full measure."

Niger state Government to commence the reconstruction of collapsed culvert

Following the collapse of the Minna-Bida culvert after a heavy rain. However, the emergency intervention will be carried out within the next twenty four hours.  The state Government has  also announced to the general public that the Minna-Bida road will be temporary shut for twenty four hours. The Niger state Government has vowed to commence the  reconstruction of the collapse road. This reconstruction will be done to avert any unforeseen catastrophe.

President Buhari received various  groups at his home in Daura yesterday,  his former classmates at school, Chairman of Good Governance Ambassador of Nigeria (GOGAN). Representatives of Kano traders Association, Chairmen of ALGON Katsina state, members of CAN Katsina chapter, and Representatives of five Local Government areas in Daura Emirate.

President Buhari departs Katsina for Abuja President  Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja following the conclusion of  the recent Eid el-kabir celebrations. Buhari celebrated Eid el-kabir in his hometown in Daura, Katsina where he was warmly welcomed by the people of Daura. During the warm reception given  by the people of his constituency, Buhari came out of a car with a tinted window and trekked eight hundred metres from his car to his residence so that he could be seen by many who wanted to see him.

Following the eight hundred metre walk done by President Buhari during an enthusiastic reception given to him by people at his constituency in Daura, Katsina state, during sallah celebrations. After the sallah celebrations, there has been speculations that President Buhari eight hundred metre walk was to show his fitness for the second term as the President of Nigeria. But Buhari has made it clear on his Twitter account that the speculations were wrong, that he only did it so that the crowd will be able to see him as he was previously inside a tinted car. Senate President joins the awujale of Ijebu Kingdom to celebrate festival

Saraki bows before the Awujale of Ijebu kingdom Senate President, Bukola Saraki visited the Awujale of Ijebu, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, in Ogun state to celebrate this year's edition of Ojude Oba festival. The Ojude Oba festival is celebrated annually in Ijebu Ode, and it is also the celebration of the rich and colourful culture of Yoruba land. Plateau State Government absorbs 2016 Npower beneficiaries as teachers

The Plateau State Government has expressed readiness to absorb four thousand, eight hundred and fifty (4850) Npower volunteers serving as teachers in the state on the expiration of their programme later in the year. The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Matthew Sule, confirmed this on Wednesday in Jos. This development will serve as great relief to the beneficiaries of the state while beneficiaries of other states are expecting their permanence in the Civil Service.

During President Buhari's return to his hometown in Daura after a short vacation he had in London. The deployed Corp members in Daura paid the President a visit during the Eid el- Kabir celebrations. The President was so overwhelmed by the visitation  of the Daura Corp members. Buhari said"One of the Sallah traditions I look forward to the most is the visit by Youth Corpers posted to Daura. I think the NYSC is one of the best things that has ever happened to Nigeria, because of the opportunity it gives young Nigerians to see and know different parts of the country."
