The First lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, has received executives of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) and other notable officials still the State House in Abuja.
The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) is the main advocate for accelerated, comprehensive and coordinated global action on the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
"I received the Executive Director UNAIDS , Dr. MichelSidibe , the Country Director of UNAIDS, Dr. Erasmus Morah, Director General, National Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (NACA), Dr. Sani Aliyu and other officials.
"Many thanks to UNAIDS for extending the tenure of my appointment as UNAIDS Special Ambassador for the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV in Nigeria and the Promotion of Treatment for Children Living with HIV by another two years.
"This will enable me to contribute more towards ensuring that no child is born with HIV in Nigeria."
The Executives were reportedly welcomed with warm arms and were given a nice treat courtesy of the Presidency.
