An Ondo state High Court sitting in Akure has sentenced Seidu Adeyemi to death by hanging for killing Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of former deputy governor of Ondo State. Khadijat, a final year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA), Akugba-Akoko, was found dead inside the room of Adeyemi at his residence in Oke Aro area of Akure on July 2nd 2018. The deceased and Seidu dated for eight years. According to police investigation, Seidu allegedly killed Khadijah for ritual purposes and then buried her in his room. On July 12th 2018, while he was being paraded, Seidu denied killing Khadijah. Explaining how she was killed, Seidu said; “Khadijat was my girlfriend since 2010 and she visited me to help her in writing her final project in school. She slept in my place on Thursday and left on Friday the following day.  "She sent a text message to me on Monday, 2nd July that I should send some money to her. Lagos State Special Taskforce has  seized some motorcycles on Environmental Sanitation  on Saturday at  Second Rainbow,along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway for flaunting the state Traffic Laws. The Lagos State Taskforce on  Sunday said it was later confirmed it seized 109 motorcycles at Second Rainbow,along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway for flaunting the state Traffic Laws. The seized motorcycles are presently in the Taskforce custody with no hope of return to their owners. The agency disclosed it would destroy over 2,500 motorcycles it impounded. The agency's decision will undoubtedly  not go down well with the owners of the motorcycles. Unfortunately, the motorcycles may be their  means of livelihood but we hope the agency softens its decision and rather fines the owners some tokens. 

Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Friday, 29th March, distributed another set of multi-million naira medical equipment to 300 primary healthcare facilities across the 18 LGAs of the state. Governor Akeredolu said his administration will not rest on its oars in fulfilling the Minimum Service Package (MSP), pillar of the Primary - Healthcare - Under - One - Roof (PHCUOR) policy of the Federal Government. The Ondo State Government has also made good roads in several Local Government Areas of the State, in his quest to ensure his administration is remembered for good legacy. This lifesaving  program will help curb excessive mortality rate and to avoid children from being attacked by deadly diseases. This undying efforts coupled with the caring heart of the amiable governor has been lauded by the members of the public.

Manchester United will give Molde a total of £1m in a goodwill gesture after appointing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their permanent manager, Sky Sports News understands. Solskjær scored 126 goals in 366 appearances for United between 1996 and 2007 and also managed the club’s reserve team until the end of 2010. He said "Special anti robbery Squad, SARS,  at Gbagada arrested my friend's staff last night at empire area of Ojuelegba. My guy got there, SARS asked him to bring #50k for bail. I just spoke to him. He's still there now. "I told him to do transfer, they didn't agree because he doesn't have cash with him and he's not with his wallet. "Someone should please stop this barbaric behavior of these SARS. "They collected phones, they harassed people. This is unacceptable! They eventually collected #10,000 from my friend. So, someone has collected #10k from illegal raiding of innocent Nigerian. Minimum wage is #30k for a month work done. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has  confirmed that its Governorship election collation officer for Gboko LGA Benue State, Prof. (Mrs.) C.D Tuluen was shot at and injured on her way to Makurdi with the LGA collated result sheet.  She is presently receiving treatment in hospital. While wishing her a speedy recovery, INEC wishes to point out that all its ad-hoc and permanent staff are insured against such mishaps and the Commission is responsible for all hospital bills and medical expenses of all such injured staff. The incident has been reported to the law enforcement officers and we will closely monitor the investigation. Lack of effective and efficient security during the guber poll has been questioned following the horrendous incidence.

The Osun State Gubernatorial Election Tribunal has declared the PDP Guber Candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, winner of the Election...Says, Supplementary Election, not known to law. Ademola Adeleke of the PDP returned as Osun State governor by an election tribunal in Osun State, with APC's Gboyega Oyetola kicked out. Osun Tribunal panel has a split decision. Two members (majority judgment)  ruled in favour of PDP/Ademola; the chairman, Justice Ibrahim Sirajo (minority judgment), ruled in favour of APC/Oyetola. Atiku said "Truly, the judiciary is the last hope of the common man and the defender of our democracy. Congratulations Sen. Ademola Adeleke." Although the tribunal is not the final arbiter, the case will tested at the appeal court and the Supreme Court. Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has disclosed that Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) will be renamed after late Olusegun Agagu, former governor of the state.  Akeredolu disclosed this during a thank-you tour of Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday 19th March, 2019. He urged the two newly - elected House of Assembly members representing Okitipupa 1 & 2 constituencies to move the motion for renaming the university.  OSUSTECH was brought to the Okitipupa by the Agagu during his regime as the State Governor under the flagship of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. This motion has been moved to honor the good works of the late governor at Ondo South. We hope the change of name will not cause any brouhaha among the students of the institution.

The vision of Rotimi Akeredolu to industrialize Ondo State for economy prosperity is yeilding more positive results. Massive work is currently ongoing on the Cassava to Ethanol Plant at the Ondo/Linyi Hub within Ore Industrial Park, Ore and will soon be ready. The plant is a product of one of the MoUs signed between the Akeredolu’s administration and the Linyi Municipal Republic in China  during the Governor's visit to China last year. When completed, the Cassava to Ethanol plant will need 300 to 400 tons of cassava daily. This means that cassava farmers in the state will have a ready market at the plant. This plant alone provides a window of employment opportunities for the youths in the state. The governor has been applauded for the industrial development in the State in a bid to foster great economic growth.
