President approves increment of Nigerian Police salary, this is the breakdown of the new salary scale.
The Presidency has approved the new salary scale for the Nigerian Police following the security unrest erupting from the recent attack on the Nigerian army.
The approval of the new salary scale is expected to take immediate effect from November 1, 2018.
The recent development has reportedly boosted the morale of the Nigerian Police staring from the highest to the lowest cadres.
Here are the breakdown of the Nigerian Police salary scale.
1.) Commissioner of Police under the new arrangement will get up to #1.5million while Deputy and Assistant Commissioner of Police get 531,000 and 483,000.
2.) A Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) gets 419,000.
3.) Superintendent of Police (SP) gets 342,000.
4.) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) gets 321,000 while Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) 1 & 2 get 296,000 and 271,000 respectively.
5.) Inspector General of Police 1 & 2 get 254,000 and 167,000. While a Sergeant Major, Sergeant and Corporal get 119,000, 96,000 and 88,000 respectively.
6.) A Police Constable 1 & 2 will get 84,000 and 82,000 respectively.
