President Buhari has met with the South East Governors at that State house. He also assured them that all the ongoing Federal projects in the South East will be funded and completed and that the seven month delay in passing the 2018 budget will not serve as an excuse.
The delegation of the South East Governors was reportedly led to the State house by Deputy Senate President, Ekweremadu.
During the commencement of the meeting, President Buhari said "I assure you that we are doing our best and we will not default on the agreements signed on ongoing projects.
Developing infrastructure is the best thing we can do. When the roads are okay, rail is established and there is power, Nigeria will flourish in their business."
Speaking on behalf of the Governors, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State said they had come specifically to thank the President for the award of contracts for the major components of the second Niger bridge at the cost of #206million.
Governor Dave further said "The second Niger bridge is the dream of our people and it has become a dream come true. Our people said we must come and thank you. Your excellency Mr. President, we are grateful sir."
