Dogara advises and wishes the general public as they celebrate Eid el- Kabir

The speaker of the house of representative, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara  rejoices and wishes the general public a happy Sallah celebrations and advises them to how to what should be done to bring about great development of Nigeria. The speaker said"While rejoicing with our Muslim brothers and sisters on this auspicious Eid el-Kabir, which symbolizes sacrifice and obedience, I wish to enjoin all people of good will to be steadfast in love for one another and demonstrate renowned commitment to the Nigerian project." Dogara also urged religious leaders to make maximum use of this season to preach peace, pnity, and patience as the nation is in a critical Political crossroad. He said"I also urge our religious leaders to tale advantage of  the season and preach peace, unity, and patience, especially now that the country is in a critical political crossroadwith the electioneering process gaining momentum as the 2019 general elections draw nearer."

Yakubu Dogara congratulates wife, Gimbiya, as she is a year older

Speaker of the house, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has congratulated his wife, Gimbiya, as she is a year older and the speaker has taken his time to shower some accolades on her. Dogara said"Happy birthday to Virtuous woman, the rock of my family and the love of my life. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself as you continue to flourish like a palm tree bearing fruits in season and out of season." The wife of Bukola Saraki, Toyin Saraki, also congratulated Dogara's wife on her twitter account. She (Toyin) said"Happy Birthday to my dear sister, Mrs. Gimbiya- blessed to know you, even more blessed by your friendship. May all your years be blessed. Happy Eld too! Amen!

President Buhari returns to his hometown, Daura, Katsina state from Abuja

Buhari returned from London not quite long and he has traveled back to his hometown in Daura, Katsina state from Aso rock in Abuja,  so as to celebrate the Sallah celebrations. The public holidays start  on Tuesday,21st August and runs through Wednesday,22nd August, 2018 to celebrate Ed-el Kabir. The President departed for Daura yesterday afternoon and he is expected to return to Abuja after the sallah celebrations. Buhari signs the 2010 instrument of accession to the International Cocoa agreement

Following the return of the President Buhari from London, he has swung into action by signing the 2010 instrument of accession to the International Cocoa agreement. Sequel to the Federal Executive Council approval for Nigeria to accede to the International Cocoa agreement 2010, President Buhari today at the state house, Abuja, the instrument of accession to the International Cocoa agreement,2010. Following the execution of the instrument of accession, Nigeria undertakes"faithfully to abide by all the  stipulations therein contained" in the agreement. Fayose gives his daughter's hand in marriage to Mr. Odunlade. See photos!!!

Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele Peter Fayose, has recently given his daughter's hand in marriage on Saturday.  The outgoing Governor has expressed his happiness by congratulating  his daughter and her newly wedded husband, Mr Odunlade. Epileptic and Complacent United beleaguered by Brighton

It was a pulsating and a one sided performance between Manchester United and Brighton as United  was humiliated by the last season newly promoted club. The match started at exactly 4pm in the afternoon at the American Express Community stadium as Manchester United used a 4-3-3  formation with Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and United outcast , Anthony Martial leading the forward line. Brighton started the hand with a 4-4-1-1 formation with Pascal and Gluen Murray leading the front line. Brighton captain, Lewis Dunk, was mistakenly injured by Lukaku, was hurled off  the pitch at 20th minute and replaced by Nigerian defender, Leon Balogun. The match started balancely before Brighton took charge of the early minutes of the first half as Glen Murray opened the scoring at the 25th minute of the encounter with a beautiful low cross from Solly March. Acting President visits the collapsed building in Jabi/Utako area of Abuja

Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has paid visit to the site of the building that collapsed in the Jabi/Utako area of Abuja. He was accompanied to the site by FCT Minister, Malam Mohammad Bello, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha. The Acting President described the collapse as an unfortunate incident, and assured that all the relevant public agencies are on ground to ensure rescue operations are effectively are carried out. Osinbajo said"First, I want to say the collapse of this building is very unfortunate incident. As you know, it was a building under construction. I think the most important thing at the moment is that we have all our relief, safety and emergency management agencies all here." He further said"NEMA is here, the FCT authorities are here, Hon. Paul Pogba to captain Manchester United on Sunday, Mourhino confirms

Jose Mourhino has confirmed the Paul Pogba will captain United on Sunday as they are prepared to meet Brighton. Paul Pogba also captained the first game at Old Trafford against Leicester City as he scored from a penalty spot after a foul from Leicester City Amertey. The United midfielder performed excellently as he was seen  at every position in the game. He made some brilliant moves in the game, delivered passes when and where necessary. Pogba captain opportunity is down to the absence of United captain, Antonio Valencia. The right back has been injured during the preseason matches, and he is excepted to back in September.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourhino has heaped a huge praise on defender, Matteo Darmian. The Italy defender has been a subject of transfer speculation to his (Darmian) country as As Roma, Napoli and other Serie A clubs are reportedly interested in signing the defender. Recently, Napoli was interested in signing him (Darmian) on  a loan deal, but United wanted to part ways with the defender on a  permanent deal. The United manager, Jose Mourhino, has spoken nicely about the defender. The manager said"He is always an option for us, he is always a reliable player, he is a fantastic Professional, he is a guy that is loved in the group, so, for me it is  good news if Darmian is not leaving." With the signing of Diogo Dalot, Darmian chances of a starting role in the first eleven is slim at United. The defender has made it known to the club that he wanted to play more minutes and he doesn't mind returning to his home country, Italy.

Tuesday and Wednesday declared public holidays by the Federal Government

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, August 21,2018 and Wednesday, August 21,2018 as public holidays in order to celebrate the 2018 Eld-el Kabir. The Minister for Interior, Retired, Lt.-Gen.Abdulrahman Dambazau made the announcement on Thursday in the Federal Capital, Abuja in a statement released by Dr. Mohammed Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. While Dambazau was wishing Nigerians a happy Eld-el Kabir celebration, he urged the general public to imbibe the spirit of love and sacrifice for the unity and the forward moving of Nigeria. He further urged Nigerians both at home and abroad to render a helping hand to the administration of President Buhari in his quest to bring peace and unity to the nation.

Why President Buhari is jittery, embattled over Electoral Act: PDP

President Buhari, in his desperation to achieve a personal ambition, is holding the nation to ransome by refusing to sign the Electoral Act Amendment bill passed by NASS to check manipulations during election. The Presidency and the ruling party, APC, are against the provision that makes it mandatory for Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish voters registered online as such would end their usual manipulation of voters registered ahead of the election. Furthermore, Buhari and All Progressive Congress are opposing the amendment bill because of a provision that restrict arbitrary qualifications for candidates and encourage young aspirants, as they fear that such can jeopardize President Buhari's chances within the APC.

Ondo state release Local Government election date

The Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, has made it known to the public that the Local Government election in the state on December 1, 2018. The Governor has immediately dissolved the council bosses and councilors based on the fact that they were inappropriately elected into the office by the immediate past Governor, Olusegun Mimiko. The just dissolved council bosses and councilors were elected in the absence of the incumbent political part, All Progressive Congress, after which the election was declared in favour of the then ruling Party, People Democratic Party. The election will be conducted in the 18 Local Government in Ondo state. The ODIEC chairman, Yomi Dinakin made it known on Wednesday at the commission office in the state capital, Akure. Federal Government to give free collateral loan to 2,000,000 Nigerians

The Federal Government has decided to give free collateral loan to two million Nigerians through trademoni in Buhari administration's new Microcredit for petty traders and artisans. This program will commence between now and the end of the year. The purpose of the Federal Government empowerment scheme is to alleviate poverty in Nigeria by helping traders and artisans. It is scheme that offers #10,000 collateral free loans for petty traders in the first instance and much more after repayment. The federal Government plans to reach 2 million beneficiaries across the country between now and the end of the year. We think this will in one way or the other help the masses in their retail businesses.

INEC extends voter's registration exercise ultimatum

The Independent Electoral Commission ( INEC) has extended the Voter's registration ultimatum by two weeks. Prior to the aforementioned date for the closure of the exercise  was on Friday,  17th August,2018  The commission has now extended the exercise by two weeks as the date for the closure is now Friday, 31st August, 2018. The extension must have been due to many eligible voters who are yet to register. The  exercise will continue in all designated registration centres everyday,including weekends, but excluding public holidays, between 9am-5pm. Eligible voters  are hereby urged to go and register themselves on or before 31st August, 2018

Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo orders the overhauling of the management and activities of SARS

Following the persistent complaints and reports on the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery squad (SARS) that border on allegations of human right violations. The Acting President said" I have directed the Inspector General of Police to, with immediate effect, overhaul the management and activities of SARS. "The inspector General of Police will ensure that any unit that emerges from the process will be intelligence-driven and restricted to prevention and detention of armed robbery and kidnapping, and apprehension of offenders linked to the stated offences and nothing more. "I have equally directed the IGP to ensure that all operatives in the emerging unit conduct their operations in strict adherence to the rule of law and with due regard to the International Human Right Law and constitutionally guaranteed  rights of suspects. Nigerian Forward Ahmed Musa welcomes a new baby boy to the family. This is the first child between Musa and his newly wedded bride, Juliet. The Former Leicester City player showed his happiness on his  instagram account. Musa said"I would like to announce to you all that moment ago, Allah blessed me with a beautiful baby boy! Words cannot describe this feeling."   The 25 year pld striker scored twice to best Croatia 2-0 at the Fifa World Cup group stage but his team longevity was cut short at the early stage of the Competition. Musa has recently joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia where he is expected to ply his trade.

Junior secondary school girls developed a "FD detector" to detect fake Pharmaceutical products

The young ladies in Junior secondary school developed a mobile application called "FD detector" to tackle the problem of fake Pharmaceutical products in Nigeria. Yesterday, they won the 2018 Technovation World Pitch in California. The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has taken his time to congratulate the Junior secondary school girls. He said "Congratulations! We are proud of you." This will help to reduce the rampant selling and consumption of fake drugs.
