The Commissioner of Police Lagos State Zubairu Muazu yesterday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Adaobi Jessica Ojide.
The Commissioner of Police assured the family that no Police officer who snuffs life out of innocent citizens of the country will be allowed to go unpunished. He said if such use to happen before, it will not happen again.
According to the CP, the Police have finished their administrative trial of the suspect Police officers including Inspector Ojo who is said to be on the run, he has been tried, dismissed from the Police and declared wanted by Police authorities.
The CP further assured the bereaved family that the Police will support the family towards the burial of their late daughter.
On behalf of the family and the entire Umueri community, Obuesi Phillips thanked the CP for making out time to come sympathise with the family.
He asked the CP to look around to appreciate the situation of the family as details of burial will be out soon to enable the Police provide necessary support.
Once more Obuesi Phillips thanked the CP for keeping to his promise to visit the family, and now urged him to go further in keeping to his promise to support the family.
He assured the CP that the famiky will communicate details of the burial plans and expenses to the Police in writing.
Also on a condolence visit yesterday was the foremost human rights activist and international woman of courage Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin.
Dr. Joe Odumakin promised to stand with the family at a time as this until justice is done. She promised that she will not be saying goodbye to Adaobi yet until justice is done.
In his thank you address the Chairman of Umueri in Lagos Mr. Sunday Eluomuno thanked the two visitors for their condolence visit assuring them that the family and community welcome and appreciate them.
He promised to work with the Police to ensure speedy dispensation of justice to the killers of Adaobi.
