Manchester United and Spain Midfielder Ander Herrera has said that the English Premier league opener is United's main target after they were trashed by Arch rivals Liverpool as the Merseyside Red new signing Xedan Shaqiri scored a stunning overhead kick on Saturday night.
The Manchester United Midfielder has now stated that the defeat is not what matters, that the Premier league opener against Leicester City is United's main focus.
After the defeat, Herrera said " the least important thing is the result right now", he explained. " We are playing with the same players every game. It looked like a Christmas period to be honest rather than a pre-season, but it is what it is.
"We have to be all together, to try to have more minutes in our legs, to not think too much about the result and let's try to keep improving because the most important thing is Leicester City."
Herrera further said "Of course it is never nice to lose but pre-season is pre-season. Everyone is giving their best trying to help us. Even the kids , they are doing amazing to help. But the difference is between us and AC Millan, or Liverpool, is that they have 16 or 17 first team players and we just have maybe 10.
"We must say thank you to the kids because they are helping and giving everything, so let's try to keep improving and always focus on the Premier league game against Leicester."
Herrera appreciated the undying support of the supporters and was sorry for the outcome of the result at Michigan. The Midfield maestro didn't play at the recently concluded Fifa World Cup, and he is expected to start the first Premier league opener against Leicester in the absence of the Serbian Midfielder Nemanja Matic.
