It was an ecstatic encounter between Panama and Belgium as double and a goal from Romelu Lukaku and Mertens respectively earned Belgium a bright start at 2018 World Cup Finals.
Dries Mertens opened the score sheet with a fascinating volley very after the first half break. Subsequently, a double from the Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku helped Belgium secure a deserved victory over the Panamanians.
His (Lukaku) double was assisted by Manchester City midfield wizard Kelvin Debruyne and Chelsea main man Eden Hazard.
It was an easy ride for the Belgians as they enjoyed the larger share in the possession and the Panamanians did not pose much threat, though they had few chances to score.
Towards the end of the match, Thogan Hazard, Mousa Dembele and Chadli were introduced as substitutes.
