The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, under the leadership of Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has officially declared the incumbent President and the All Progressive Congress, APC flag bearer, Muhammadu Buhari, the winner of the 2019 Presidential election.
The reelected Presidency won his strong opposition, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, by around 4 million margin.
President Buhari had a whooping poll of 15,191,847 and PDP Atiku had 11,262,978. From the breakdown of the results above, President Buhari won at four geopolitical zones leaving Atiku to win the remaining two, which is the South Eastern part of the nation.
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said "That Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected."
