Deputy Senate President of the Nigerian Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has been elected to represent Enugu West Senatorial District for the next four years.
Ekweremadu, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP flag bearer, won the Senatorial poll by accruing a total of 86,088 votes to beat his closest rival, Mrs. Igbekaku Nwagwu, of the All Progressive Congress, APC, accruing a total of 15,187 votes.
The result margin was very crystal clear to the blind and audible to deaf.
The Deputy Senate President has taken his time to appreciate the people of Enugu West for their immense and undying efforts towards his success at the poll.
He said " I was again returned in a landslide victory by the people of Enugu West. I polled a total of 86,088 votes to beat my closest rival, Mrs. Ibekaku-Nwagwu, of APC, who polled 15,187 votes."
He finally ascribed the glory to God on his success and glaring victory over his strong oppositions.
He said "I'm not taking this for granted. I indeed feel very humbled and I give all the glory to God."
Ekweremadu also represented his Senatorial District during the 2015 general elections but his joy has been furthered with another huge representation of Enugu West.
