Real Madrid skipper Ramos free to face Bayern as he faces no UEFA action

The Blancos captain has escaped punishment for appearing in the tunnel while serving a ban and will be eligible for the Champions League semi-finals
Real Madrid will be able to call upon skipper Sergio Ramos in a Champions League semi-final clash with Bayern Munich after seeing him escape UEFA punishment.
It had been suggested that the World Cup winner would face further sanction on the back of the suspension served at the quarter-final stage.
Having been handed a one-match ban for yellow card accumulation, Ramos was forced to sit out the second leg of a heavyweight clash with Juventus.
He was, however, in attendance at Santiago Bernabeu and watched on from the sidelines as Real surrendered a three-goal advantage .
As that contest entered a thrilling climax, Ramos left his seat in stands and headed for the touchline.
The Blancos were awarded a controversial stoppage-time penalty against Juve, resulting in a chaotic finish to the game.
Ramos was among those caught up in the tension as he was spotted at the entrance to the tunnel.
He was still there as Cristiano Ronaldo converted a dramatic penalty to send Real into the semi-finals on the back of a 4-3 aggregate success.
UEFA rules stipulate that no banned player can be present pitch side or in the tunnel while serving a suspension.
Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri questioned        Ramos during the final stages of a meeting with Real, while the 32-year-old’s presence was also noted in referee Michael Oliver’s report.
Any player breaching UEFA protocol has previously been stung with a further ban, with Xabi Alonso being prevented from gracing the UEFA Super Cup in 2014 after breaking suspension regulations during the Champions League final earlier that year.
Ramos has, however, avoided a similar punishment and will be free to face Bayern Munich in the last four after seeing Real paired with the Bundesliga champions in Friday’s draw.
His presence will be welcomed by Zinedine Zidane, with the Blancos chasing down a hat-trick of continental crowns in an era of European dominance by those at the Bernabeu.
