'Ask Gazidis!' - Henry laughs as he's asked whether he wants the Arsenal job

The former Gunners forward has been linked with replacing his ex-manager after it was announced he would leave the club at the end of the season

Thierry Henry has responded to suggestions that he could replace Arsenal Wenger as the manager of Arsenal next season.

The north London club have announced that the Frenchman, who has been in charge of first-team affairs at Arsenal since 1996, will leave at the end of the current campaign.

Former Gunners star Henry, who works as an assistant to Belgium boss Roberto Martinez, has been touted as a potential replacement for Wenger, but he refused to give a direct response to such rumours, having previously said he would find it difficult to turn down an approach.

"Look at me laughing. Listen, this is a funny one because I'm not going to go that way [talking about taking the Arsenal job] again," he told Sky Sports.

"I was trying to talk from the heart and I went a bit too far. There is one person you can ask that question to and that's [Arsenal chief executive] Ivan Gazidis, he's the one who can answer that question."

Arsenal face West Ham on Sunday before the first leg of their Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid takes centre stage, a tournament they are likely to need to win if they are to qualify for the Champions League next season.

And Henry hopes they can secure the trophy to give Wenger a fitting send-off.

"Let's not forget we still have to win the Europa League," added Henry. "The team has to win the Europa League, it would be a major achievement and a great way to give him a good exit."'

Henry scored more than any other player under a single manager in Premier League history, with 175 under Wenger, and remains Arsenal's highest ever scorer with 228 goals in total.

Sad!!!! Corp member falls from moving commercial bus in Lagos.

At about 9:45pm on 15/04/19 a corp member fell from a moving commercial bus (danfo) along LASU-ISHERI road Lagos. He sustained severe head injury and was lying by the road side. A few eye witnessed at the scene of the incident assisted in driving him down to a nearby hospital at (Alimosho General hospital, Igando) where he was given first aid treatment. He was thereafter referred to LASUTH for further medical management that same night due to the nature of the injury he sustained. However, no one has been unable to contact the relatives or friends. Mobile phone on him can't be accessed (passworded) and has no means of identification on him. We hope the young man recovers fast from the severe head injury sustained during the ugly incident.
